Pre-Columbian Textiles On Display

Byzantine Textiles in the Basement Storage Area

We saw a cross section of the (small) Pre-Columbian textile holding which was freshly mounted in the textile gallery (besides Wari hats and tapestry tunics decorated with abstract designs, there were some of their impressive feather work garments and ornaments on view). And on the Byzantine side, we got an insight into Early Byzantine and Islamic silk and tapestry fragments of wall hangings, and fragments of dress, mainly tapestry decorations of tunics with various figurative designs.
