August 8, 2015 Exhibition of IHBS Member Textiles Some pictures click on the thumbnail for the full picture. The big news in August was the exhibition of rugs, kilims and textiles from IHBS members’ collections. This took place August 5-8th at David Zahirpour’s gallery at 4922 Wisconsin Avenue, just south of the intersection with Fessenden Road. The highlight of the event was the reception on Saturday evening August 8th, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. We had Middle Eastern goodies to sample. All IHBS members were invited to visit the exhibition and join us at the reception. The exhibition consisted of more than 60 objects. These were selected by a panel of outside experts from more than 100 pieces that were offered. Consequently, we owe both thanks and apologies to those of you whose pieces did not make the cut. Our exhibition was held in connection with the International Conference on Oriental Conference, which had events the same weekend at George Washington University and the Textile Museum.
